2004 Robert Stemmler Ferguson Block Carneros Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., 400 cases, $35. This wine is sourced from the oldest portion of the Donum Estate, planted in 1974 to Martini selection on St. George rootstock. Yields are .9 tons/acre. Aged 11 months in 50% new oak. · This is a wine for fans of dirt. Very earthy with a mushroom and woodsy edge. Plums, blackberries and boysenberries make up the fruit profile. A decent, but not extraordinary wine. Reviewed April 7, 2008
