2012 TREOS Estate Founder’s Choice Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

15.5% alc., 195 cases, 500 ml., $48. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Sweet black fruit aromas with hints of port and cognac and slight volatile acidity. Sweet, ultra ripe fruit flavors with soft tannins and integrated alcohol. Drinks more like a dessert wine with the sweetness coming from fruit and alcohol, not sugar. Well-done in the intended style but not my style. (This wine is less appealing to me now than when reviewed in August 2014 when it was scored 88 and probably is not a long-lived wine) Score: 86.
