2014 Brooks Crannell Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Oregon Pinot Noir

13.5% alc., pH 3.45, TA 0.60, 300 cases, $48. Vineyard farmed by Richard Crannell. Jory and Nekia soils - well-drained, volcanic basalt from ancient lava flows. Vineyard planted in 1984 at 550 feet elevation. Native yeast fermentation, aged 18 months in French oak barrels. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Engaging aromas of cherry, dusty earth, ground savory and white pepper. Delicious pie cherry core wrapped around suave tannins and accented with a kiss of oak. The flavor of this wine really hits home and the glorious cherry-driven finish seems to last a minute. Score: 94. Reviewed August 27, 2017
