A former apple orchard that struggles in deep sandy soils in one of the cooler sites in the Russian River Valley. Indigenous yeast fermentation in French oak barrels and aged 16 months in French oak barrels, 35% new. · Moderate golden yellow color in the glass. Aromas arrive nicely over time in the glass including crusty lemon pie, grilled pear and toasted brioche. Delish flavors of lemon, green apple, grilled pineapple and honey. Somewhat boldly fruited, but with cleansing, steely acidity on the long finish. Score: 93. Reviewed November 12, 2017
