2015 Calera Reed Vineyard Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., 165 cases, $75. Vineyard planted in 1975 (4.4 acres) and 2012 (1.54 acres). Yield 0.59 tons per acre. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% new, 10% second vintage and 60% neutral. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Wines from this vineyard tend to be more red-fruited and elegant. Aromas of red cherry, spiced berry, dried rose petal and burnt tobacco reflect the whole cluster inclusion. The mid weight flavors of dark red fruits are accented with a hint of spice and caramel. The fruit is succulent yet refined and the overall impression is graciousness. Slick in texture, with a really long, mesmerizing finish. Score: 94. Reviewed June 9, 2018
