![]() 2006 Sapphire Hill Sapphire Hill Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.4% alc., $32. Gold Medal winner 2008 Sonoma County harvest Fair. Unfined and unfiltered. · Complex nose of black cherries, cinnamon and cardamon spices, grilled fruit, herbs and a hint of pepper. Fresh and bright dark cherry core highlighted by oak which is prominent on the lively finish. Soft, smooth and tasty in the mouth. The wine was still drinking fine the next day from a re-corked previously opened bottle. Reviewed November 2, 2008
