2005 Vino V White Hawk Vineyard Santa Barbara County Syrah 14.5% alc., unreleased. · Similar to the 2004 vintage but shows more immaturity. Complex aromas of black fruits, ripe strawberries, oak and a little barnyard. Blackberry fruit flavors with an oak sidecar. Moderately fine-grained fresh tannins, a velveteen texture and a long, dry finish. Not as showy as the wine above but will match up nicely with more time in the bottle. Reviewed February 18, 2008
