2000 J. Rochioli West Block Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., 400 cases, $65. Yield 1.9 tons per acre. · Dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Lovely aromas of dark berry jam, dried rose petals, leaf, oak and exotic woods. Impressive attack of black cherry, blackberry and black plum fruit wrapped in sturdy tannins. A charming wine with strikingly flavorful fruit (finesse with power) that persists on the long finish. Could last a few more years. Very good (+). Reviewed October 4, 2011
