2011 Siduri Parsons’ Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.9% alc., 420 cases, $49. From a very warm site on the Santa Rosa Plain. Typically the wines are big and ripe. Clones are 115, 777, and Pommard. Kelley Parsons farms this vineyard along with vineyard manager Jim Pratt, and she is also a noted tomato grower in the area. · Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. Vibrant, expressive nose showing aromas of berries on the vine, cherry pie and spice. A wowzer in the mouth with a gargantuan blast of very ripe and lush cherry and raspberry fruit that holds your attention on the huge finish. Soft and velvety in the mouth with enough balanced acidity and tannin to keep it on point. This wine will have fans among fruit lovers. Very good. Reviewed March 23, 2013
