2012 Peter Paul Wines Gravenstein Highway Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., 1,166 cases, $34. The core of this wine is from Anderson-Ross Vineyard on Gravenstein Highway. Clones 115, 23 and 667. Fermented with natural yeast in open-top fermenters after a 6-day cold soak. Aged in 30% new French oak. Unfiltered. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Love the nose on this wine with its hi-tone Bing Cherry, cola and red rose petal aromas. Impressive attack of Bing cherry fruit that fills the mouth with goodness. Discreetly lush with balanced tannins and a lasting finish. My only nit is that alcoholic heat is noticeable in the background. Score: 90. Reviewed July 19, 2014
