2013 Benovia Cohn Vineyard Sonoma County Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., pH 3.78, TA 0.56, 350 cases, $70. Released September 2015. Aged in 40% new French oak barrels. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. Intriguing aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, white pepper and a hint of oak. Refined and elegant on the palate, with layered flavors of black cherry and dark red berries and the slightest oak compliment. A haunting wine that finishes with plenty of spice and quenching acidity. This wine is more about nuance than power. Score: 92. Reviewed November 5, 2015
