2012 Carden Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., 745 cases, $48. Aged 17 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. The nose offers very ripe dark fruited aromas with hints of violet and soy sauce. More engaging on the palate, with mid weight plus flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, black currant and spice. A bold wine with hefty sap and ripeness reflective of the vintage. Highly fruit-driven with deft oak management. Score: 89. Reviewed April 2, 2016
