2013 Reata Three County California Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., $15. 53% Monterey County, 31% Sonoma County and 16% San Benito County blend. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of blackberry jam, spice, tar and barrel lead to a well endowed, rib-sticking core of blackberry, cassis, and anise flavors shadowed by slightly coarse and firm tannins. Soft in the mouth, this wine displays fully ripened fruit, an overlay of charred oak, and a dry and slightly astringent finish. Score: 86. Reviewed August 17, 2016
