2015 Roessler Wine Cellars Lennox Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.7% alc., $54. Roger Roessler Signature Series. This site is located in the cooler southwestern edge of the Russian River Valley. · Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of sweet cherries, cola and vanilla. The delicious core of black cherry, boysenberry and blackberry flavors envelope the palate and persist on the very long finish. Great harmony with toned oak highlights. Plenty of Pinot singing in this wine and true to RRV in character. Score: 93. Reviewed May 7, 2017 WINERY » ARTICLE »

2014 Roessler Wine Cellars Lennox Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.2% alc., pH 3.55, TA 0.61, 135 cases, $54. Vineyard is located in the cool southwestern edge of the Russian River Valley and planted in Goldridge soils. Composed of Dijon clones 667, 777 and 115 all fermented separately. Organic yeast fermentation, aged 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. The perfume of blackberry, blackest cherry, potpourri and oak vanillin draws interest, while the mid weight plus core of purple and black berry sweet fruits provide a hedonistic charge of pleasure. The most concentrated wine in the lineup, with healthy supporting tannins and a thread of oak in the background, finishing with some length and intensity. My nit would be this wine does not show the signature characteristics of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Score: 89. Reviewed December 1, 2016 WINERY » ARTICLE »

2010 Evolve Winery Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.4% alc., pH 3.66, TA 0.58, 218 cases, $29.99. From a 9-acre vineyard on the southern edge of the Russian River Valley. Dijon clones 115, 667 and 777. · Moderately dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of dark cherries and berries and Herbs de Province. Middleweight core of savory, dark red cherries and berries with a citrus imbued cranberry note on the bright finish. The wine has a herbal vein running through, avoiding the lush fruit-driven character of many Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs. Pleasingly viscous on the palate with a moderate tannic backbone. Considerably better the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle with improved fruit to savory balance. Very good. Reviewed March 21, 2012 WINERY » ARTICLE »
