2006 Brookside Cellars Moon Hill Vineyard Marin County Pinot Noir Barrel Sample
80 cases.
This is a new producer that specializes in small lots of Pinot Noir from select vineyards in Marin and
Sonoma Counties. The Moon Hill Vineyard is in the hills of Nicasio, above
the San Geronimo Valley. Winemaker Tim Crowe is a native of Marin
County and a graduate of the University of California Davis. His resume
includes stints at Arrowood, BR Cohn, and Pezzi King.

The barrel sample
is quite decent but still a little un-evolved. The core of dusty red cherry fruit
is capped off with the right touch of acidity.
