Kings Mountain Vineyards
A tiny producer of Pinot Noir located on Kings Mountain Road in Woodside, California in the Santa Cruz mountains appellation, Skyline sub-region. The area is one of the coolest wine growing regions in California. The vineyards was planted in 1992 on a private estate that dates to the late 1800s. 520 vines cover just over one acre. The vines are dry farmed and hand maintained. The winery produces about 400 cases of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a Bordeaux blend each year. The 2005Pinot Noir won the People's choice and Best in Show awards at the Fifth Annual Monterey County Fair Wine Challenge in 2009. The wines may be purchased from the website store. 650-851-7551.
