Huber Cellars and Vineyard
The Huber Estate was established in 1986 and the first vines planted in 1987, making it one of the oldest vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The grapes were sold to several Santa Barbara County wineries including Gainey and Rusack, bugt beginning in 2000, the Hubers, along with winemaker Norm Yost, began producing limited quantities of wine from the estate grapes, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Dornfelder (a German red grape that is a nod to the owners' German heritage). The first Pinot Noir was produced in 2002. The tasting room is open Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 4:00 at 4892 Hapgood Road in Lompoc. Other days by appointment (805-736-3854). The wines are also available from the online store. |
