Flat Rock Cellars
Founded in 1999 on a piece of the Niagara Escarpment known as the Jordan Bench. The winery building is a quirky, glass encased, hexagonal structure perched on a rolling slope planted to vines with views of the Peninsula and across Lake Ontario to Toronto. The winemaker is New Zealand native Ross Wise who has worked at Felton Road Wines in Central Otago and Grove Mill Winery in Marlborough. His first Flat Rock Cellars wines will be released from the 2009 vintage. Pinot Noir is produced from vineyards surrounding the winery. Also in the lineup are white wines, rose wine, sparkling wine and icewine. |
