The 35-acre Surveyor Thomson vineyard lies on the slopes above the Pisa Moorings on Lake Dunstan in the Cromwell Basin at Lowburn, Central Otago. It was planted with a range of Pinot Noir clones from 2000. The label is named after an ancestor of the proprietors who was New Zealand's first surveyor general. The wine is made by Dean Shaw at Central Otago Wine Company.
