Ellman Family Vineyards
South African emigrants, Neil and Lance Ellman, produce small lots of premium wines sourced from Napa and Sonoma counties. Kian Tavakoli and Chris Nelson are the winemakers, with Greg Hirson consulting. Nelson, who has a Master's degree in enology from Fresno State, has trained at Lynmar Winery in the Russian River Valley, Dry River Winery in Martinborough, New Zealand, and Araujo Wines in Calistoga, Napa Valley, and is in charge of the Pinot Noir program. The winery's Alexis Skye Pinot Noir is sourced from the Gap's Crown Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast and the Amanda Pinot Noir comes from the Amber Ridge Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. The wine is aged 10 months in 33% new French oak and is unfined and unfiltered. The wines may be ordered through the online website store. |
