Omero Cellars
A boutique family owned and operated vineyard and winery producing small lots of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris in the northern Willamette Valley of Oregon. The vineyard farm, acquired in 2008, is the owner's home. The estate vineyard is 26 acres located in the Ribbon Ridge AVA. Planting commenced in the spring of 2009 with multiple Pinot Noir clones including Pommard, Wadenswil, Dijon 113, 114, 115 and Pinot Gris clones 146 and 152. The vineyard is dry farmed organically. The initial vintages were from purchased fruit (the 2008 Pinot Noir is from Corral Creek Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA). The wines are produced at Carlton Winemaker's Studio by winemaker Sarah Cabot who has had winemaking stints at Belle Pente, Willakenzie Estate and Akarua in Central Otago, New Zealand. A multi-level gravity fed winery is to be built on the vineyard property. A tasting room is located at 116 W Main St in Carlton, open Thursday-Sunday, 12:00-5:00. The wines are also sold through the winery's online store.
