Australian owner and winemaker Chris Loxton was brought up on a Shiraz vineyard in South Australia, but now lives in California specializing in Syrah and Zinfandel and founded Loxton Wines in 1996. With a doctoral degree in physics, he worked in academia for years, eventually leaving to pursue a passion for winemaking. Pinot Noir has been a recent addition to his portfolio (2009).
