Proprietors Peter Vermeulen, Alex Merrill and Anuj Aggarwal had a shared passion for California wine. The first wines were released under the Caravel label in the summer of 2010. The Outcast label came later, referring to the band of brothers behind the company.
A 2009 Outcast Pinot Noir was sourced from the Yorkville Highlands. The wines are inexpensive.
