Astrolabe
Winemaker Simon Waghorn created his own brand in 1996 to capture the essence of Marlborough. An astrolabe is an ancient instrument of navigation that measures the altitude of the stars, and also is the name of an early sailing ship that explored the Marlborough coast. Wines are produced in three tiers: Province wines are a blend of all sites across Marlborough region, Valleys highlight the sub-regions of the Marlborough region, and the Vineyards are a small production single vineyard group of white wines. Pinot Noir is only offered in the Province tier. The wines are exported to the United States by Cannonball Wine Company, Palo Alto, California |
