Piedra Creek Winery
Owner and winemaker Romeo Zuech was born and raised in Brez, Italy. After a successful career in the aerospace industry, he moved to San Luis Obispo and began Piedra Creek Winery. He is truly a rocket scientist who is also a winemaker. He specializes in San Floriano, a unique blend of Italian varieties, Old Vine Zinfandel, and Pinot Noir. Piedra Creek Winery is the smallest bonded winery in the Edna Valley, producing under 1,000 cases annually. The wines are crafted at a custom crush facility in Edna Valley. The 2-acre San Floriano Vineyard has 1 acre of Pinot Noir, one-half acre of Lagrein, and one-half acre of Teroldego. The first vintages were released in 2002. The wines are sold through the website. Private tastings are available by appointment at 805-541-1281. |
