Proprietor Margarete Davenport is a graduate of University of California at Davis in enology, she received a Master of Science degree in 1985. Her early inspiration was Zelma Long at Simi Winery. Her winemaking duties have taken her to Wente Bros. in Livermore and Clos du Bois. In 2003, she left Clos du Bois and started her own business, Davenport & Company, offering Preston Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Rockpile Zinfandel from her JD Ranch. She also provides consultation services for winemakers and winery owners and makes all the wines for Passalacqua Winery (Healdsburg, Dry Creek Valley)
