Three families were drawn together through a blind tasting group. In 2007, they entered into a partnership along with Rolando Herrera of Mi Sueño Winery. A Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec were released in the inaugural vintage of 2007. In 2011, there were able to partner with Soberanes and Sierra Mar vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands to make vineyard designate Pinot Noirs.
Winemaker Rolando Herrera arrived in California at the age of 15 and took a job as a dishwasher at Auberge Du Soleil. Soon thereafter he worked as a stone mason at the home of Stag's Leap Wine Cellar's founder, Warren Winiarski. Winiarski offered him a job working harvest and he spent ten years working at Stag's Leap, including 7 years as cellarmaster. He later became an assistant winemaker at Chateau Potelle and Director of Winemaking at Paul Hobbs Consulting. In 2004, he left Paul Hobbs to devote all his time to Mi Sueño which had begun as a side project in 1997 while working at Chateau Potelle.
