Holocene Wines

California winemaker Todd Alexander was the winemaker at Bryant Family Vineyard as well as general manager after spending a few years there as assistant winemaker. He also worked as the cellarmaster for Plumpjack and CADE wineries before that. He moved to Washington in mid-2014 to partner on Force Majeure, focused on Rhone and Bordeaux varietal wines produced from estate vineyards. Since he loved Pinot Noir, so he also began crafting Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley.

Alexander's Oregon Pinot Noirs were initially more full-bodied and intensely flavored than usual for Oregon Pinot Noir, but since 2015 the wines have become for elegant and refined. Picks are earlier and more whole cluster is included, making the wines more fresh, restrained and expressive.

A new label was introduced with the 2015 vintage including Apocrypha Pinot Noir sourced from Antiquum Farm Vineyard and Memorialis Pinot Noir sourced from MonksGate Vineyard. both dry-farmed sites. The Apocrypha bottling remains a little bigger than Memorlialis due to difference in vineyards.

The wines are allocated through a mailing list and sold on the winery website.
