Salinia Wine Company
Kevin Kelley is attracted to very cool climate vineyard sites. While working as assistant winemaker at Copain, Kelley met Charlie Heintz, the owner of Heintz Ranch in Occidental and Heintz asked him to be the ranch's winemaker. Heintz offered Kelley some grapes and along with the encouragement from Kelley's wife, Jennifer, Salinia was born with the 2005 vintage. Kelley makes wine for other labels as well as Salinia and Heintz. Less than 300 cases of Pinot Noir Chardonnay and Syrah are produced each year and is sold through a mailing list. In 2007, Chardonnay and Syrah were sourced from the Heintz Ranch in the Sonoma Coast and Pinot Noir from W.E. Bottoms Vineyard in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley.
