Reynolds Family Winery
Steve Reynolds, a former dentist, along with his wife, Suzie, bought a 100-year-old chicken ranch in the renowned Stags Leap District in 1994. The winery is truly a family operation in which Steve is the owner, farmer, winemaker and salesman. Steve and his father were home winemakers for years, often buying grapes from Oscar Renteria and his family. The first vintage was produced in 1999 in a Tuscan-styled winery surrounded by 10 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in 1996. Today, the winery works with twenty different vineyards and growers. The wines have been highly ranked in the industry press, and Napa's People's Choice voted it the "Best Boutique Winery" recently. Seven wines are produced, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir (both a Russian River Valley and a Los Carneros bottling), a Merlot, Estate Cabernet, a Reserve Stag's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon and a red wine blend called "Persistence." The wines are sold on the website. The tasting room at 3266 Silverado Trail, 10 minutes from the City of Napa and is open daily from 10:00 to 4:30.
