2012 Kosta Browne Cohn Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.7% alc., 36 cases, $84. · Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. Aromas of boysenberry, blackberry, vanilla, toast and chalk. Prodigious and ultraripe purple and black fruits flood the palate. Velvety in texture, with soft, integrated tannins. The high alcohol adds sweetness, creates viscosity and shows up as a little warmth on the moderately long finish. Well-made in this style that finds many fans. Holding up nicely but best to drink up within the next few years. Score: 91. Reviewed August 27, 2020
