2012 Gary Farrell Westside Farms Russian River Valley Chardonnay

13.6% alc., pH 3.24, TA 0.70, 580 cases, $45. Release September 2014. Wente clone 4. Harvest Brix 22-23º. Whole cluster pressed, inoculated with Montrachet yeast. Aged 8 months in 40% new French oak (barrels and 500- L puncheons). · Light golden yellow color and clear in the glass. Slightly austere and driven by flinty minerality, this wine offers demure flavors of yellow peach and grilled lemon. Somewhat silky on the palate with bright acidity on the soprano finish. I could not connect with this wine. Score: 87. Reviewed July 19, 2014
