2012 Brewer-Clifton Machado Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., 675 cases, $74. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Highly nuanced nose with scents of dark strawberry, plum, black raspberry, spice and rose petal. Darker fruits are featured on the palate which features some allspice and stem. The suave tannins are well integrated and the wine finishes with admirable fruit drive, although a hint of alcoholic warmth peaks out. Score: 90-91. Reviewed April 4, 2015
