14.3% alc., pH 3.54, TA 0.60, 400 cases, $48. Release fall 2016. Old Wente clone from both old and newer plantings. Whole cluster pressed and barreled down, native yeast fermentation and 100% malolactic fermentation. Aged in 40% new French oak barrels. Bottled unfined. · Moderate golden yellow color in the glass. Shy, but pleasing mineral-inflected nose with added scents of citrus peel and vanilla. Polished and expressive, with flavors of lemon butter, pear, white peach and toasted brioche that persist on the finish that has uncommon fruit presence. Score: 91. Reviewed June 19, 2016
