2016 Anaba Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

13.7% alc., pH 3.38, TA 0.70, 933 cases, $36. Sourced from Denmark, J McK Estate, and Dutton Ranch (Mill Station and Shop Block) vineyards. Barrel fermented, 50% MLF, aged 17 months sur lie in French oak barrels, 25% new. · Moderately light golden yellow color in the glass. Bright aromas of lemon, yellow apple, brioche, yellow flower blossom and lychee. Slightly oily in mouthfeel, with flavors of lemon, pineapple, yellow apple and cinnamon spice. 2016 Dutton Estate Kyndall’s Reserve-Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Chardonnay

14.5% alc., pH 3.33, TA 0.66, 906 cases, $42. Released May 2018. This wine is named for Joe and Tracy’s oldest daughter who works at the winery. Select lots from Dutton Palms (Wente clone), Sebastopol (Robert Young clone) and Mill Station (44-year-old, dry-farmed, heritage clones) vineyards. Whole cluster pressed, 40% concrete egg and 60% oak barrel fermentations with twice monthly lees stirring. 100% malolactic fermentation. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 42% new. The wine was cold stabilized and filtered prior to bottling. Winemaker Terry Adams. · Moderate golden yellow color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of lemon curd, whitefleshed fruit and seasoned oak. Discrete richness and noticeable ripeness, with flavors of Golden Delicious apple, lemon butter, toast and caramel. 2015 Freeman Vineyards & Winery Ryo-Fu Green Valley of Russian River Valley Chardonnay

14.3% alc, 615 cases, $40. A multiple vineyard blend (Keefer Ranch, Heintz Ranch, Black Emerald, Searby and Dutton Mill Station vineyards). Aged 15 months on lees in French oak barrels, 12% new and 88% used. Apparently full malolactic fermentation. · Moderate golden yellow color in the glass. Aromas of buttered toast, lemon curd, honey, pineapple and slight matchstick initially. Rich and ripe fruited in a highly flavorful style that retains good vibrancy. Flavors of lemon, pineapple, yellow peach, burnt caramel and vanilla build over time in the glass. Slightly creamy in mouthfeel with some finishing length. Harvest Brix 23.9º. Whole cluster pressed before barrel fermentation. 60% malolactic fermentation. Aged 17 months in French oak barrels, 20% new. · Moderate golden yellow color and clear in the glass. A generous wine with good spirit, offering aromas of honeyed pear, buttery lemon tart, crème brûlée and ocean air. 2013 Martin Ray Mill Station Vineyard Green Valley of Russian River Valley Chardonnay

13.5% alc., pH 3.41, TA 0.68, $35. Harvest Brix 23.9º. Barrel fermented with select yeast strains. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. · Moderate golden yellow color and clear in the glass. Hi-tone aromas of lemon zest, banana creme, and cookie dough lead to relatively light, but bright and clean flavors of lemon creme, peach, and pineapple with a hint of vanilla and spice. 14.0% alc., pH 3.51, TA 0.62, 206 cases, $36. Sourced from Mills Station Vineyard and Shop Block, both Dutton Ranch properties in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley. Harvest Brix 23.6º. Wente clone. Whole cluster pressed, 100% barrel fermented, 100% malolactic fermentation, aged 9 months on lees in French oak barrels, 35% new. · Moderately light golden yellow color and clear in the glass. Pleasant aromas of lemon oil, lemongrass, pineapple and caramel lead to a bright and crisp style of citrus driven wine that is almost crunchy. A hint of banana and brioche is a donation from oak. 2013 Peter Paul Mill Station Road Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., 370 cases, $40. Sourced from a vineyard on Mill Station Road which lies to the west of Gravenstein Highway near the tiny town of Graton. Goldridge soils. Dijon 115 clone. 6-day cold soak, natural yeast fermentation, aged in 100% French oak barrels, 60% new. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Pleasing aromas of dark red cherry, black cherry, black raspberry and pomegranate are replicated in the mid weight plus flavor profile. Rigorous in intent with luscious fruit presence, with the vivid fruit load matched to fine-grain tannins. The well-endowed, fruitdriven finish leaves an impression. Score: 92. Whole cluster pressed, 100% barrel fermented. Aged 11 months sur lees in 48% new French oak. · Light golden yellow color and clear in the glass. Very stylish throughout with aromas of lemon, golden apple, white flowers and toast and vivid, full-bodied flavors of lemon creme, apple, pear and vanilla.
