Dutton Estate

This winery specializes in vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc from the Dutton family’s estate vineyards at Dutton Ranch in the Green Valley, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations. Dutton Estate was established in 1995 by Tracy and Joe Dutton originally as Sebastopol Vineyards.

The Dutton Ranch was founded in 1964 by noted Sonoma County viticulturist Warren Dutton. Today, Dutton Ranch farms 1300 acres of grapes that include over 65 vineyards, and 250 acres of apples. Grapes are sold to over sixty wineries, many of which feature the prestigious Dutton Ranch designation on the label.

Winemaker Terry Adams crafts the Dutton Estate wines as well as those released under the Sebastopol Vineyards label which are a broader representation of the appellations. Adams has been the winemaker since 2010. Formerly Director of Winemaking at Sonoma-cutrer, Adams began his winemaking career in 1977 at Chateau Souverain under the tutelage of William Bonetti. In 1981, he joined Sonoma-Cutrer, where he was reunited with Bonetti, where they both helped create the first wines for Sonoma-Cutrer.

Production is between 4,000 and 5,000 cases annually. The wines are available on the website and through retailer www.klwines.com.

A tasting room is open daily 11:00-5:00 at 8757 Green Valley Road.
