Domaine Coteau
Dean Sandifer moved from Minneapolis to the Willamette Valley of Oregon in 1994 to acquire land and start a vineyard. The first hillside parcel was purchased in 1995 and planted to Pinot Noir in 1996. Additional land was added and planted to Pinot Noir in 1998 and 1999. The Burgundian model has been implemented with vine density of 2,437 vines per acre creating a target goal of two tons per fruit per acre. A single estate Pinot Noir is produced. 1,500 cases are released annually. The winery is located at 9150 SE Three Trees Lane in Amity, Oregon and is open by appointment (503-697-7319). The tasting room is at 258 Kutch St. in Carlton. The Pinot Noir is largely sold through a mailing list but may be ordered by downloading the order sheet on the website. |
