Carmel Hills Winery
A small, artisan producer in the Carmel Hills. Vineyard manager is Paul Stokes and the winemaker is Lynn Sakasegawa Stokes. The estate six-acre Hidden Hills Vineyard is home to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the Phoenix Vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Very small lots (<100 cases) of Pinot Noir are produced. The 2008 Carmel Hills Pinot Noir won a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. A single-vineyard, Hidden Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir, was released for the first time in the 2009 vintage. A tasting room in Carmel Valley Village is open daily 12:00-5:00 except Wednesdays. Wines are sold in case amounts on the winery's website. |
