Robert Mondavi Winery
An iconic winery in the Napa Valley known for Cabernet Sauvignon and Fume Blanc. One of the first wineries to offer tours, tastings, art exhibits, and educational programs for consumers. Robert Mondavi was an innovator who promoted labeling wines varietally rather than generically. The Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science at the University of California Davis opened in 2008 in his honor. Pinot Noir is sourced from primarily from Napa Carneros. Both a regular and reserve bottling are available. A value-priced Pinot Noir is offered under the Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi label as well. The wines are offered through the winery's online store and through wide retail distribution. The current esteemed head winemaker is Genevieve Janssens. Curiously, Robert Mondavi Winery has never achieved success and a following for its Pinot Noirs. |
