Blakeslee Vineyard Estate
Bill and Sheila Blakeslee bought this 20-acre estate formerly known as Quail Hill Vineyard in 2005. The estate has produced Pinot Noir grapes for over 13 years and potentially is one of the Chehalem Mountains best vineyard sites. The vineyard is dry-farmed and will be LIVE certified with the 2012 harvest. 10 acres of Dijon 115 and 5 acres of Pommard planted in Laurelwood soils. Patricia Green sourced grapes from this vineyard for a highly regarded bottling through 2005. The first Blakeslee Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir came in 2006 and in 2010, Robert Brittan join the Blakeslee team as winemaker. The wines are produced at The Carlton Winemaker's Studio. A tasting room opening is planned for 2012. Both a Williamette Valley and Reserve Pinot Noir are produced. The wines are sold through the website store. |
