NV Noble Vines Collection 667 Monterey Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $7.99 (Trader Joe’s). Produced and bottled by Noble Wines, Napa and Manteca. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, spice and a heavy dose of vanilla. The mid weight core of black cherry fruit is framed by oak-driven toast and tobacco flavors. Very simple, with a silky texture, and a hint of astringency and alcoholic warmth on the finish. 2013 [Noble Vines] 446 San Bernabe Vineyard Monterey Chardonnay

14.5% alc., $12. Part of the Delicato Family Vineyards portfolio. A single vineyard wine at this price point is a rarity. The grapes are Martini clone 4 and are planted in block 46 of the vineyard = “446.” 50% malolactic fermentation. · Light golden yellow color in the glass. Slightly creamy on the palate, this wine has bright flavors of apple, pear, melon and vanilla cream, and aims to please with an uplifting spring in its step. Among the oceans of Chardonnay in the marketplace, this wine stands out at its price point (I have seen it marked down to $9.99). Widely distributed. Score: 89. Reviewed September 18, 2015 ARTICLE »

2013 Noble Vines 446 San Bernabe Monterey Chardonnay

14.5% alc., $12. Clone 4, Block 46. Very light platinum color in the glass. · Welcoming aromas of cut apple, slate and subtle smoky oak. Soft in the mouth with impressive harmony, offering demure but pleasing flavors of apple, pear, melon and vanilla cream. Equal to many Chardonnays offered at two to three times the price. Score: 88. 2013 2013 [Noble Vines] 667 Monterey Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $13.99. Dijon clones. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. The nose is replete of fruit, offering scents of earth, mushroom and organic flora. 2012 Noble Vines 667 Monterey Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $9.99. · Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. Classy aromas of dark cherries and dark red berries lead to a mid weight palate of flavors that echo the nose.
