The husband and wife team of Joel and Laurie Kiff bought 80 acres in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA in 2004. The winery produces two wines - Pinot Noir and Rose of Pinot Noir from a 1-acre dry-farmed vineyard.
The winery is housed in a converted pole barn which also functions as a tasting room. The "J" and the "L" are from owners Joel and Laurie Kiff.
The inaugural J.L. Kiff Vineyard Pinot Noir was from the 2010 vintage.
