A Pinot Noir specialist producing both Willamette Valley AVA Pinot Noir and vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs. The first vintage was 2015.
This label is a sister label of California's Banshee Wines.
The winemaker is Adam Smith who has made wine at Domaine Serene, Shea Wine Cellars and the new project from Meo-Camuzet (Domaine Nicolas-Jay).
The wines can be purchased through the Banshee Wines online store. Some wines are club member only.
2016 Averaen Oregon Pinot Noir
13.8% alc., pH 3.69, TA 0.60, $15.99, screw cap. Classy label and bottle. Jory and sedimentary soils. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. Shy aromas of cherry and oak. Light in weight, offering flavors of cherry, cranberry and green tea with a bit of wood in the background. Matched tannins, good vibrancy and finishing cut. Score: 88.
