Kazmer & Blaize
Winemaker Michael Terrien is known for his stints at Acacia and Hanzell and now makes wine for the Tricycle Wine Company group which includes Kazmer & Blaize, Obsidian Ridge and Molnar Family. The Kazmer & Blaise label began in 1995 began making a Pinot Noir from Primo's Hill, a single, 7-acre block of grapes on Poseidon's Vineyard in Napa Carneros. The name is a fusion of he middle names of Peter Molnar and Michael Terrien. Only a few hundred cases are produced each year of Kazmer & Blaise Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The owners say the Pinot Noir "drinks more like a Northern Rhone than a Burgundy." The wines are sold through a mailing list. Very funny website. Tasting by appointment (707-255-4929). Articles About Kazmer & BlaizeReviewed Wines2005 Kazmer & Blaize Primo’s Hill Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir 13.8% alc., $45. · The nose is fruit-shy, displaying smoke, oak, ash and mocha Java.
