2014 On Point Christinna’s Cuvée North Coast Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., 217 cases, $36. A blend of 23% Landy Vineyard, 33% Donnelly Creek Vineyard and 44% Gap’s Crown Vineyard grapes. Aged 15 months in French oak, 19% new. · Moderately light reddish purple hue in the glass. A delightful blended wine offering aromas of cherry, spice, herb field and cigar box leading to a mid weight core of Bing cherry and spice flavors backed by silky tannins. A very cozy and easy to like wine that finishes with a charge of black cherry and raisin notes. Still styling the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. Score: 91. 2013 On Point Christina’s Cuvée Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., 198 cases, $36. Named in honor of winemaker’s spouse. Sourced from Donnelly Creek Vineyard in Anderson Valley. Aged 15 months in 100% French oak barrels, 24% new. · Moderately light reddish purple hue in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, sous-bois and oak. Very tasty flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, dark cola and anise with a hint of cardamom spice. Nicely seasoned with oak, with modest tannins and some finishing presence. 2013 On Point Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

14/0% alc., 282 cases, $36. Sourced from Sangiacomo Vineyard (54%) and Gap’s Crown Vineyard (46%). Clones 667 and “828.” Aged 15 months in 100% French oak barrels, 18% new. · Moderately light cherry red color in the glass. Quite fragrant with scents of cherry, red berry and spice. Lighter weighted flavors of red cherry and berry with a slight confected bent, complimented by a note of baking spice and toasty oak. The wine is forward, juicy and likable, with modest tannins, and a cherry-driven finish. Score: 88. Reviewed July 12, 2015 ARTICLE »

2012 On Point Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

14.0% alc., pH 3.67, TA 0.56, 253 cases, $36. A blend of four clones (115, 667, 777 and Pommard) from Gap’s Crown (35%) and Sangiacomo (65%) vineyards. Aged 16 months in 30% new French oak. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Ripe fruited, with aromas and flavors of blackberry jam, black currant, plum reduction sauce and dried cherry. Notes of anise and spice add interest. 2012 On Point Christina’s Cuvée Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.0% alc., 182 cases, $49. Sourced from Donnelly Creek Vineyard. Pommard and Elliot clones. Aged 16 months in 25% new French oak. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Bright aromas of Bing cherry elevate from the glass. Middleweight core of cherry, spice and cola flavors backed by integrated tannins. The finish is very pleasing, lingering with a kiss of cherry. 2011 On Point Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

14.0% alc., 69 cases, $35. Clones 115, 667, 777 and Pommard from the Petaluma Gap region of the Sonoma Coast. Aged 16 months in 30% new French oak barrels. · Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. Uplifting aromas of black raspberry preserves, cassis and spice. Tasty core of dark cherries, black raspberries, and spice. Nicely composed with balanced tannins and a velvety presence in the mouth. 2010 On Point Christinna’s Cuvée North Coast Pinot Noir

14.0% alc., 242 cases, $34. From Fulcrum Wines. A blend of Londer, Gap’s Crown and Floodgate vineyards, honoring the winemaker’s wife. Clones 115, 667, 777 and Swan. Barrel aged 15 months in 24% new French (Remond) oak barrels. · Moderately light reddish-purple hue in the glass. Pleasant aromas of dark red cherries, red currants and berries with notes of briar, Dr. Pepper and oak spice. Light, but big on flavor with an array of bright fruits including raspberry, cherry and blueberry. Mild tannins and great uplifting natural acidity. 2009 On Point Christina’s Cuvèe North Coast Pinot Noir

13.9% alc., 306 cases, $34. Released June 16, 2011. Sourced from Londer, Gap’s Crown and Floodgate vineyards. Clones 115, 667, 777, 828 and Swan. Aged 15 months in 27% new French oak barrels. Bottle aged 6 months. · Pleasant perfume of mixed dark berries, plum and oak. Soft and smooth, but rather nondescript, with flavors of blackberries and dark plums and some black cherry showing up on the finish. Gossamer tannins make for easy drinking but the wine lacks focus. 2008 On Point Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

13.9% alc., 150 cases, $28, release date May 11, 2010. 86% Tondre Grapefield and 14% Doctor’s Vineyard. Clones 828, 115, 777 and Swan selection. · Aromas of blueberries with minty and green bean notes. Medium bodied with a decent core of darker fruits with a subtle green edge. Picks up some charm in the glass over time, but remains a simple wine. Does not have the powerful fruit intensity that is typical of wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. Decent.
