Burning Bench Cellars

Burning Bench Cellars produces a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Moon Hill Vineyard, a 3-acre vineyard planted with Dijon clones in 2001 and 2007 in Marin County AVA.

The closely-spaced vineyard is located high (620-680 feet) on steep, south-facing slopes of the ridge separating Nicasio and San Geronimo Valleys. A very low vigor site with vines planted on a shallow layer of clay loam overlaying fractured sandstone. Clones are 115, 667, 777 and "828."

The winery and vineyard are off-grid and solar-powered. Management of the vineyard is completely hands-on and vines are pampered.

Annual production of estate produced and bottled Moon Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir is 150-200 cases. The Burning Bench Cellars Pinot Noir is sold on the website.
