In the early 1970s, Harvey Firestone's son, Leonard, established a family ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley. He saw great potential in the Santa Barbara County's climate and soils for winegrowing. He was joined by his son Brooks and Brooks' wife Kate, and together they established Santa Barbara County's first estate winery.

Vintner Bill Foley acquired the winery in September 2007.

Multiple varietals are produced including a Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills.

A tasting room is open daily in Los Olivos that also offers daily winery tours and picnic facilities. The address is 5017 Zaca Station Road.
