Limited production numbered edition Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines composed by Jean-Charles Boisset. A native of Burgundy, Jean-Charles also owns DeLoach Vineyards. The three initial 2006 Pinot Noirs are from the Sonoma Coast (No. 7 and No. 11) and Mendocino Ridge (No. 22). The wines have been favorably reviewed by the wine press.

NV JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset No. 69 Brut Rosé Burgundy France Sparkling Wine

12.0%, $60. A Crèmant de Bourgogne. The number signifies the birth year of Jean-Charles Boisset. Based exclusively on Pinot Noir. · Delicate coral pink color in the glass. 2014 JCB No 6 Sonoma Collection Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $75. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of dark cherry, strawberry and herb garden become more gracious over time in the glass as do the flavors that echo the nose. 2013 JCB No 7 Sonoma Collection Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., 500 cases, $50. Fermented in wooden open-top fermenters with hand punch downs, basket pressed. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. The aromas of black cherry, earthy flora, leather and toasty oak blend together nicely. Tasty flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and blackberry energize the attack and mid palate, persisting on the finish with lip-smacking goodness. 2013 JCB No 22 Sonoma Collection Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

13.5% alc., pH 3.55, TA 0.58, 150 cases, $75. 11 is Jean-Charles Boisset’s lucky number and this wine has twice the intensity of most Pinot Noirs and thus the title of the wine. Fermented in wooden open-top fermenters with hand punch downs, basket pressed, and aged 20 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Gorgeous, nose-filling aromas of dark stone fruits, pie spice, vanilla and subtle toast. Delicious flavors of cherry, raspberry, pie spices and vanilla with a subtle savory note in the background. 2012 JCB No 3 Ed. III Red Wine

13.5% alc., $123. A marriage of five vineyards in California and three top vineyards in Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. Aged 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Pleasant scent of black cherry, spice, herbs and beechwood. Lighter styled, with earthy flavors of cherry and raspberry, and an array of savory spices and herbs. The savory and fruit components compliment each other and the wine picks up interest over time in the glass. Drinking well now, with easygoing, fine-grain tannins, and a bright, uplifting finish. 2007 JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset No. 69 Sonoma Collection Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Rosé

14.1% alc., 200 cases, $12.75. · Pinkish-red watermelon color in the glass. A European-styled rosé with juicy strawberry, cherry, cranberry and melon flavors exhibiting moderate richness and a satiny texture. One of the better rosés I have had from California. Very good. 12.0% alc., $60. From a vineyard in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Aged in 100% stainless steel.. A Blanc de Noirs Brut Crémant de Bourgogne. · Pale apricot color in the glass. Aromas of pineapple, lemon and apple core. The flavors echo the nose with added nuances of lees, nectarine and kumquat. A dry, pleasing drink with a strong bead. Score: 87. 2006 JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset No. 22 Mendocino Ridge Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., 58 cases, $63.75. · Lovely scent of dark stone and berry fruits, oak, redwood and rhubarb. Full, plush and striking core of dark berries and plums with a moderate tug of oak, firm tannins and bright acidity. The silky texture is alluring. Very good (-).
