2015 Anam Cara Nicholas Vineyard Wädenswil Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., 100 cases, $55. Release in spring 2018. 100% Wädenswil clone planted in a 2-acre block in 2008. Aged in 25% new, 25% once-filled and 50% neutral French oak barrels. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Very engaging aromas of crushed cherry, plum, marionberry, rose petal and bread dough. Delightful middleweight flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, spice and Hoison sauce. The energetic sap is backed by gentle tannins and offers a sexy texture. Quite approachable, with good finishing pleasure. I am more of a Pommard guy, but I must admit that this is one of the best Wädenswil single clone Pinot Noirs I have ever experienced. Score: 93. Reviewed February 21, 2018
