Fermented with yeast strains from Burgundy and Germany, aged 11 months in French oak barrels. · Dark garnet color in the glass. Aromas of mushroom, wet log and blackberry. Mid weight essence of blueberrypomegranate juice with some toasty oak support. Silky in the mouth and lighter on its feet than the other two Sonoma-Loeb wines reviewed here, with some indulgent tannins and some length on the sweet-fruited finish. Score: 92.
